What does "statuses" really track, and for what time zone?

I've noticed that "statuses" number is way higher than the actual statuses I post on @accuweather. For example Dec. 16, which I assume shows Dec. 15 stats, I show 17 tweets/RTs/[email protected]'s and 16 @replies, you show 31 "statuses"). What exactly is it tracking? And what is the time zone?

The statuses tab represent the number of Tweets that you have sent out.

The time zone that we use is UTC (or GMT), so it might happen that if you're in the US our Asia that the Tweets that you send out get split between two days.
