Why am I now receiving YouTube subscriptions alerts to my twitter via twittermail? I have disabled the connection between my YouTube account and twitter and I still get them as tweets.

This could be because of a whole range of reasons. My advice would be to change your Twittermail address to make sure you won't receive email from services you've subscribed to.
