Which mail do you mean?
If you meant the mail which was sent to your @twittermail email address, it is posted to your twitter account as a tweet, allowing you to post tweets from any device wherever you are.
It is recommended to make sure nobody can guess this email address, which allows others to tweet to your twitter account as well.
