Very old statistics & new handle

I just added this to my Twitter account, which I changed yesterday from @objectaustralia to @ObjectAU. It's showing very old figures for my number of followers, and is showing it based on @objectaustralia also. Why is this? Does it take a while to update? It's saying, for example, 422 followers when we currently have 1795, and the number of tweets is wrong also...

A typical update of your account includes getting the new data and updating associated accounts and caches on Twitter Counter. These processes take some time, which explains why you might see some old numbers. This usually resolves over time.

When I check your account now, it shows the lates numbers.
