Can you tell me exactly how the Tweet Count actually works?

I have been following Stats for a client. Last week one of their new accounts has 19 Tweets, this week they have 38 and nobody actually did anything on the account for all of last week. Please advise. Thanks, Ray

We get all our numbers directly through the Twitter API. Sometimes the numbers are incorrect, but unfortunately we can't do anything about this. It usually corrects itself within a few days though.
