trouble with allowing widget

After I click to Allow the Twitter Counter access to my account, Twitter will show "Redirecting you back to the application" but after so long it just brings me to a blank page. Refreshing the window doesn't help, and trying to check my stats pops up a Twitter message saying the page is invalid, even though the counter shows in my list of Twitter connections.
