The history of 's Twitter stats
Although the account got registered in April 2009, Charlie Sheen actually joined Twitter for real in March 2011. And with a bang as he set a new Guinness World Record as the “Fastest Time to Reach 1 Million Followers”. Obviously Twitter Counter tracked his growth from day one and during that time the account got an impressive 129,000 followers per day. A ratio that no man or woman before him reached on Twitter. That is even more impressive when you consider Charlie Sheen hadn’t tweeted anything yet, these first days he officially joined on Twitter.
What happens when Charlie Sheen shares your link?
When Charlie Sheen was gaining these huge amount of followers, we replied to him with a link to his Twitter stats. We hoped he would check out our hard work but carried on making the site better and then we were quite happy to see this tweet by him in July:
Over 24 hours his tweet got 100+ retweets and we tracked 23,754 page views on Charlie Sheen’s Twitter Stats page. That is a click through rate of 0,5%, pretty neat huh?
In December Twitter looked back and shared with us the top subjects that were tweeted about the most during 2011. From the top used hashtags we learned #tigerblood was the second most discussed trend. Charlie Sheen tweeted numerous times he got ‘Tiger’s Blood’ running through his vains and #tigerblood became almost a widely spread mantra among the Twittersphere.
