A few weeks ago we started introducing the masterminds behind Twitter Counter. Julio, our awesome backend engineer was the first of our team to answer three “hot” questions. This week put your hands together for Joey! So, Joey…

1. Tells us a bit about yourself.

I was born and raised on the sunny island of Curaçao (the island next to Aruba) and about 5 years ago I moved to the Netherlands to start studying Communications & Multi-Media Design, at the Hague University of Applied Science. I’m currently an intern at Twitter Counter.

2. What are you working on?

Right now, I’m working on an amazing browser plugin for Twitter Counter, which will be available for Chrome, Safari and Firefox some time this month. Other than that, I work on the front-end of Twitter Counter; designing and building interfaces, and making sure that our website works well on mobile. I was recently responsible for the Twitter Counter redesign.

3. What is your favorite Twitter moment?

Not my favorite moment, but definitely one of the most useful moments, was when a prominent politician from Curaçao was assassinated. Being so far away from the island, it was hard to learn more about the situation, especially given the fact that local news websites took a long time to report it. The community on Twitter not only tweeted about it minutes after it happened, but there was also an abundance of photos, theories and eye-witness accounts.

Accounts to follow:

@SeinfeldToday: I’m a big fan of Seinfeld and as much as I love the re-runs, it would have been interesting to see how those characters would react to situations nowadays. Modern Seinfeld makes that happen, tweeting episode plots set in modern times.
