The latest addition to the online media landscape is called Vox and we have to say, it looks very promising. Have you read any of its news articles yet?
Oh wait, you can’t because there aren’t any! Vox soft launched last week but it has already become Twitter’s favorite, even without having published any actual news content yet.
Vox.com sent its first tweet on March 9th announcing its launch and was retweeted by 320 people. Not too bad for a first tweet, right?

What’s even more impressive is its follower growth since the day it launched until today. On its first day of Twitter activity alone, @voxdotcom gained a whopping 15,650 followers and kept growing on an average of 6,500 followers a day! Our data indicates that it will cross the 50,000 followers milestone tomorrow.
So why @voxdotcom has grown so fast on Twitter even though it’s not actually launched? Well, first of all curiosity. But also the “early adopter” syndrome; that inner force that pushes you to follow something before it becomes too “mainstream”. I guess every tweep hides a hipster deep inside.
Content or no content, one thing’s for sure; Vox’s Twitter growth shows that it has managed to build anticipation of its launch on social media. More than this, it has reminded us how amazing Twitter can be at building a brand’s community. Well ahead its launch, Vox already has a Twitter community of 45,000 potential readers. And that’s pretty cool.
