Our Twitter Widget is five! February 12, 2009 marks an important date for Twitter Counter as on that day we launched one of our first tools: TwitterRemote (later renamed to simply Twitter Widget).

Just as Twitter Counter could be described in its first days as Feedburner for Twitter, you could say that TwitterRemote was like MyBlogLog for Twitter.

Wondering what Twitter Widget actually is? It basically helps you build your community and get more Twitter friends as it gives you the unique insight of who visits your site or blog. This way, you know who is engaged on your site and can directly add them on Twitter without leaving your website or blog! Check out our own widget at the bottom left side of this page.

Such a tool truly was and still is a revolutionary feature. In the first month, we displayed 2,9 million TwitterRemote widgets, 6,8 Million in March and 7,8 million in April 2009. In the years that followed, from March 2010 until today, Twitter Widget has generated more than 131 million unique visitors and a whopping 400 million page views!

Since its launch six years ago, Twitter Counter has come a long way constantly adding new features and improving its service. But the best is yet to come. Stay tuned for more exciting news in the near future!
